NSW Regional Science Grants program now open
Applications for funding under Inspiring Australia's NSW Regional Science Grants program are now open.
Funding of up to $10,000 is available to support community events presented during National Science Week (15-23 August 2015) and at other times of the year.
For the past two years, the NSW Regional Science Grants program has helped Inspiring Australia (NSW) establish a growing network of Regional Science Hubs.
The highly-successful program involves passionate scientists collaborating with government, universities, businesses and community organisations to deliver imaginative science outreach events and activities in their local areas.
From large-scale festivals, science/art collaborations and nature surveys to stargazing, film making, art exhibitions and science talks, the funded projects aim to raise awareness about the important part science plays in our everyday lives.
Applications are invited from individuals and organisations willing to work in partnerships with at least two other organisations to form a Regional Science Hub and develop a unique science outreach event.
In addition, $25,000 is available for one Sydney-based organisation to use towards its National Science Week program of events. The successful applicant will be required to develop a major launch event to mark the start of National Science Week celebrations in New South Wales.
