Co-Investment Grants
The NSW Government, through its Research Attraction & Acceleration Program (RAAP), supports investment in the State's research and development capability. A strong research and development (R&D) capability is a critical driver for innovation in the State's economy.
Research collaborations, including cross-sector partnerships, industry and academic cooperation, and training in emerging technologies and applications underpins the State’s ability to turn emerging research into new industries, technologies and services.
Commonwealth programs such as the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centres of Excellence (CoE) and Industrial Translation Research Program (ITRP), and the Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Program support this R&D activity nationally, with successful NSW bids catalysing industry and innovation ecosystems within the State.
Eligibility
- Co-Investment rounds are run annually and eligible applications must have been successful in the latest round of CoE, ITRP or CRC grants.
- Applicants must be headquartered in NSW. For the purposes of this grant, headquarters is defined as the main administrative office of the Centre and location of the CEO. Headquarters must remain in NSW for the period of the funding agreement.
- At least 40 per cent or more of total CoE/ITRP/CRC research expenditure must occur in NSW.
NSW Priority Alignment
RAAP co-investment funding is competitively assessed and will be targeted at those applications that can demonstrate a clear contribution to NSW Government priorities, including the Premier’s Priorities, and deliver broad economic, environmental, health, social and technological benefits to NSW.
Applications can also demonstrate their contribution to NSW by their alignment to NSW priorities outlined in the NSW 20-Year R&D Roadmap.
