A University of Wollongong researcher known for his groundbreaking work fusing robotics with human biology has been named the NSW Scientist of the Year.

Neil Bramsen from Mount Ousley Public School and Brett McKay from Kirrawee High School were honoured at during a gala ceremony at Parliament House; Canberra.
